Mission, Method, Faith and Working Principles Statements

Mission Statement:
Press On Ministries exists to build Godly relationships with youths, individuals, and their families for the purpose of making disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Method Statement:
By providing recreational, educational, emotional and spiritual opportunities for personal growth.
Statement of Faith
We believe that there is one God, creator and sustainer of the universe, existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
We believe that the Bible is the verbally inspired Word of God, is inerrant in the original manuscripts and uniquely infallible, our only authority for faith and practice.
We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His bodily resurrection, in His victory over sin and His enemy Satan, in His present exaltation at His Father’s right hand, and in His personal return, at any time, in power and great glory.
We believe in the fall and lostness of man, whose total depravity requires that he be regenerated by the Holy Spirit for his salvation.
We believe that salvation consists of the forgiveness of sins, the imputation of Christ’s righteousness, and the gift of eternal life, received by grace through faith alone, entirely apart from works.
We believe in the ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life, and by whom the church, the Body of Christ, is gifted and equipped to serve and glorify God.
We believe in the bodily resurrection of all mankind; those who have trusted in Christ, the ultimate Judge, will receive everlasting life and blessedness in heaven; those who have not will receive everlasting punishment and separation from the presence of God.
We believe that Christ has commanded His church to preach the gospel to all people, and that this mandate should be primary concern of all Christians.
Working Principles
Press On Ministries presents a summary statement embodying our "Working Principles" that has been adopted by our Board of Managers.
1. We emphasize foundational truths.
2. We will NOT teach or emphasize any of the peculiar or divisive doctrines of the church.
3. We will refrain from making critically attacking remarks within our volunteer mission family.
A more complete text from our Board of Managers is below.
We stand for and emphasize the foundational truths held in common by evangelical Christians. These we teach from the Bible, in which we find the supreme revelation of God's character and will and of His plan of salvation and Christian training, which we seek to make plain to all.
We find this revelation to have been progressive throughout Bible history, culminating in Jesus Christ and in His apostles we find this revelation, also attested by supernatural works of divine power, judgment and grace, which God revealed through prophets, but pre-eminently through His Son.
We find it our special joy to teach Christ- His eternal deity: His true humanity: His sinless holiness: His perfect oneness with the Father. We emphasize His matchless teaching; His deeds of mercy; His atoning death; His bodily resurrection; His intercession for believers; His coming triumph.
We emphasize also the nature and consequences of sin and the need and work of the Holy Spirit in regeneration; in guidance into the fuller experiences of truth which God is ever granting to those who diligently seek after Him and in promoting spiritual life and power for service.
We refrain from the controversial discussion of doctrines which are less essential and on which evangelical Christians hold varying views.
We aim to present only constructive truth. We have no place either for critical attacks or doubts and uncertainties.
