About the Youth Center

In March of 1999 the Lord provided enough financial support that Director Jim Wilson could resign from his previous employment and start working full time at his mission, opening Press On Community Youth Center on May 1st, 199 at 1622 Central Ave. in Kearney, NE.
Jim started making contacts with families by walking around the neighborhood, introducing himself and his mission to youth and their parents. Very soon, kids began coming to the Youth Center. They invited their friends to what they began to call the Center, and within two short years the Center was at full capacity. Serving consistently over 100 kids from 75 families, the need for a larger facility became apparent. Property was located, many skilled individually stepped forward to help, and on May 1st of 2005 a new facility was opened at 604 East 13th street. Along with the growth of youth involvement, the Lord met other needs as they arose: two buses for transportation, volunteers to help with the growing ministry, and a new addition.

Press On Ministries is a 501(c)3 Non-profit corporation that operates completely because of free-will donations. We are governed by a board of trustees. We have no paid staff; our Directors serve on a full- time basis and raise their own personal financial support, which is kept separate from all Center donations. The heart of this ministry is its volunteers and the structure of our ministry is dependent on the volunteers the Lord sends to us. We feel it is very important that we have an authority structure. We feel that it is equally important that we all understand that this ministry belongs to the Lord Jesus Christ and each of us are equal in our value in terms of accountability in regards
to our stewardship at any and all levels of involvement.
